DALI4US: Data Literacy for Upper Primary Schools
DALI4US is an Erasmus+ funded collaboration between partners in Ireland, Slovenia, and Luxembourg. In Ireland, the professional learning programme is led by the Oide Digital Technologies team.
The project is designed to give primary teachers the skills and confidence to bring data literacy into their classrooms. By doing so, we prepare pupils for a digital world where understanding and using data is a key life skill.

What will the project do?
– Support teachers in building confidence, knowledge, and practical skills around data literacy
– Develop inquiry-based approaches that make data meaningful for children
– Provide adaptable teaching resources that fit across the primary curriculum
– Create opportunities for teachers across Europe to share experiences and ideas
What’s happening in the project?
Over the course of the project, partners will:
– Define the approach – clarifying what data literacy looks like at primary level
– Design professional learning – flexible, teacher-friendly training modules
– Create resources – practical materials that can be used straight away in classrooms
– Offer training – through online and in-person professional learning events
– Connect schools – sharing insights and examples across partner countries
Benefits for Irish schools
Schools that engage with DALI4US will:
– Access training and classroom-ready data literacy resources
– Explore European examples of data literacy in action
– Strengthen digital learning across the curriculum
– Help shape approaches that prepare pupils to become thoughtful, informed citizens in a data-driven society
Timeline
Start date: March 2024
Finish date: January 2027
