Coding and the BRICS Project at Oxmantown NS Birr

Video Overview

Teachers and pupils at Oxmantown National School showcase how they identified and solved local community problems through robotics, coding and hands-on learning.

Description

They describe their experience taking part in the BRICS Project including working in teams, brainstorming and creating robotics solutions using Lego Spike. Projects included tools such as an Ivy Cutter, an accessible ramp system, and a Plant Planter, each designed to address a specific local challenge.

They discuss how pupils developed computational thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills and how they documented their design process using Book Creator and they impact the project had on teaching and learning in the school.
