AI for Schools – New online course
2nd September 2024
A new online course on AI for Schools provides teachers with an understanding of artificial intelligence, including the benefits, risks and ethical considerations in the school context.
This highly interactive course includes expert video inputs, from the Adapt centre and others, which provide insights into how schools are already engaging with AI as well as the wider context of AI developments. The course also signposts a wide range of further materials and resources on the topic of AI in education.
Croke Park Hours
The course will be available throughout the 2024/2025 school year, enabling school management to plan for their teachers to engage with it during Croke Park hours or share their learning and related classroom practices during staff meetings. It requires just one hour of study time. A certificate of completion is available.
What our participants think
The course ran briefly at the end of the last school year and was very well received:
The course provided a good explanation of where AI is (at the moment) as well as giving a very clear, fair and a very balanced overview of its background, the positives and the negatives/pitfalls that we as educators must be aware of.
