Loinnir: A Festival of Digital Learning

27th May 2026

Loinnir, Oide Technology in Education’s Festival of Digital Learning, brought together 161 school leaders and digital learning leaders from primary, post-primary and special schools across Ireland. With a large number of expressions of interest received, it was clear from the outset that there was a real appetite for a dedicated space to celebrate and explore digital learning in Irish schools.

The day opened with a welcome and overview of Oide TiE from Anthony Kilcoyne, Divisional Director, followed by a keynote on ‘Connecting with Key Competencies’, delivered by Sinead Tuohy, Director for Curriculum and Assessment, and Patrick Sullivan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, both from the NCCA.

At the heart of the day were presentations from 18 schools across 7 workshops, spanning themes including emerging technologies, digital tools for inclusive classrooms, digital literacy, formative assessment through digital portfolios, and the purposeful use of generative AI.

A fireside chat brought together voices from primary and post-primary schools, offering an honest and engaging exploration of their journey of leading digital learning.

The day concluded with Loinnir Conversations, an opportunity for participants to consider and explore key insights and takeaways from the event, connect with peers from across the country, and create a roadmap for their own school’s next steps in digital learning.
