This course aims to provide teachers with the knowledge, resources and confidence to teach digital citizenship and to empower their pupils to be safe, ethical and responsible online.

It is a shortened and updated version of an earlier primary summer course ‘Introduction to Digital Citizenship Education’ which ran for three years and was shortlisted for an international Learning Award in 2023.

Participants will explore what it means to be a good digital citizen and how they can integrate online wellbeing, media literacy, privacy, communication, ethics, empathy and more into their teaching. The course contains good practice videos filmed in primary schools and provides access to a wealth of online safety resources from Webwise.

The course was developed by Oide Technology in Education in collaboration with our Webwise team.
