The Digital Technologies team will be offering a number of webinars and face-to-face courses for primary teachers through the ESCI network. Please read the descriptions below and contact your local Education Support Centre to learn when each course will take place.

Internet Safety Resources for all Class Levels

Being safe online is a key skill for all our pupils. This webinar takes teachers through the suite of resources available for teaching internet safety in the primary classroom including big books for the infant classroom and the latest Webwise resources. This course will also inform participants how to get involved with Safer Internet Day.

Simple Digital Tools for Teaching and Learning

Teachers are now becoming inundated with a large number of websites and online tools which are vying for our attention. This webinar introduces a variety of easy to use interactive tools and resources that can be used by teachers or pupils to embed using digital tools in teaching and learning practices.

Getting Started with Filmmaking and Fís

Participants will explore the benefits of engaging in film-making to support and enhance teaching and learning in the primary classroom. This three part series will explore the filmmaking process, while also learning how this may be applied to a classroom setting to support and enhance pupils’ literacy development across the curriculum.

Participants will gain insight into the range of skills associated with filmmaking which their pupils can develop through the effective use of digital technologies, such as those associated with planning a shoot, capturing footage and editing.

Using Digital Technologies to improve literacy lessons

This webinar will explore the new and emerging digital tools that can easily integrate into literacy lessons. Teachers will interact and experiment with an array of tools and websites for Reading, Writing and Oral Language lessons in English and Gaeilge.

Using Digital Technologies to improve numeracy lessons

With the new Maths curriculum in development this webinar will explore the new and emerging digital tools that can easily integrate into numeracy lessons. 

Maths eyes, problem solving and virtual manipulative resources will ensure pupils have interactive learning experiences to supplement your numeracy lessons.

Digital Resources to Support Teaching SESE

This webinar engages teachers in a hands-on approach to using digital technologies in the classroom to support and enhance teaching and learning.

It explores a range of digital tools that can be used to effectively develop active pupil learning in the area of SESE.
